A BIONIC PANCREAS AND MUCH MORE - 3D PRINT SEMINAR - DAY ONE RECAPITULATION

3D printing issues attracted the attention of the guests of 2019 Industrial Spring

Industrial printing in metal and sand, prosthetic elements printing  and versatile possibilities offered for medicine by  3D printing industry applications - these are just examples of the first lectures topics. The event gathered specialists. Not only engineers, but also by experienced doctors discussed the issues.    

Biological researcher Marta Klak PhD. from the Foundation for Research and Development of Science talked about the unusual process of creating a bionic pancreas. Together with the Bionic Consortium, a team of doctors works on a 3D bio-printing project designed to produce bionic pancreas - the organ that will enable people with diabetes to live a normal life and avoid the need for chronic insulin therapy.

3D printing is also useful when it comes to savings. For example maintenance of energy transmission continuity.  As much as 7 percent of the world's energy is consumed for servicing, repairs, refurbishments - said  Andrzej Zakręcki from 3D Technology in Targi Kielce. - Thanks to additive manufacturing technology you can save 30 percent of this energy.

Energy sector continuity and the resulting savings - this boils down to spare parts for devices manufactured to order, regeneration of used parts. This procedure often happens on the spot - the client may use a mobile laser welding station.

The next seminar days will discuss further issues concerning various spheres of life - ceramic objects shaping, additive manufacturing laser production of metal parts, metallic parts additive manufacturing. On Thursday, - the last educational session of the seminar, the 3D printing development  limitations in Poland will be discussed.
