ALMOST 600 ŚWIĘTOKRZYSKIE SCHOOL-STUDENTS JOIN THE SAFE WATER PRIMARY SCHOOL ORTS CAMPAIGN

Almost 600 students from Świętokrzyskie Region will be a part of the 6th edition of the
Safe water Primary School orts campaign - winter edition - "Safe on Ice"

Targi Kielce in conjunction with the Świętokrzyskie Association - Volunteer Water Rescue Service WOPR hold the sixths edition of the Safe water Primary School orts campaign - Safe on Ice winter edition.  On  5 December  the Targi Kielce Congress Centre  will host the training session.  The official session begins at  11.

In the event of falling into cold water, the only way to help the victim is some other person's assistance.  It is very difficult to get onto the ice surface yourself. Even 4 minutes of cold water immersion may be dangerous,   hypothermia may occur, this affects the ability to assess the situation.  It is easy to overlook when you become indifferent.  This is particularly dangerous because the victim is no longer interested in what happens.  That is why it is so important to learn proper behaviour in such situations.

How to behave in such a situations? Pupils will learn during the sixth edition of the Safe water Primary School orts campaign - "Safe on Ice". Already 560 children from 16 schools in Świętokrzyskie have already registered.  Winter and water related dangers will be addressed by Świętokrzyskie Association -Volunteer Water Rescue Organisation. They will also talk about irresponsible behaviour's consequences.  Most importantly, they will teach children and young people how to behave in a life-threatening situation.  The practical part will be the culmination - it includes cardiopulmonary resuscitation drill.

 In addition to the workshops, the organisers have prepared artistic part and competitions. Also handball players from PGE Vive Kielce with the mascot of the team - the Wild Tusk and Matołek the Billy Goat will be joining the event.

Over 6,000 participants took part in previous Safe water Primary School orts campaign editions.
