RELIGION (NOT) PERSECUTED - THE SACROEXPO 2019 CONFERENCE

The problem of persecution seems to be the phenomenon of religion. This has been the case since the beginning of time, of all times, places and religions.   This has been confirmed with the growing wave of discrimination, as evidenced by analyses published by international analytical organizations.  Numerous religious communities are the tragic example:  Rohingya - a Muslim ethnic group recognized by the UN as the most persecuted minority in the world, harassed Hindus in Bangladesh. Now defended by the Amnesty International. Jewish communities which suffer from the re-emerging anti-Semitism in Europe. The anti-Semitism seems to be on the top, having risen since the end of the Second World War.  The phenomenon is also illustrated by data on the world’s two largest religions.  Christianity followers experience various harassments or even systematic persecutions in 130 countries, Muslims - in 117. The reports authors gained the data form the institutions which professionally analyse the human rights observance issue. They claim that as much as 70 percent of the world's population is persecuted for religious reasons.  Faith in God seems to be increasingly dangerous.

The next in series "Dialogues on Religion" conference is devoted to religious persecutions and inter religious conflicts. The seminar is held within the scope of the 20th International Religious Expo SACROEXPO 2019.  The discussion brings together representatives of international organizations which monitor religious persecution on a global scale.
